Twenty years ago, when I was still living at home, if I got pissed off at work, when I left the office I could just put my headphones on, crank the volume up to an earsplitting level, and not worry about things until the next time that I was in.
Today, I’ve got a position of some responsibility for a small company, a wife, a child, and a mortgage.
Sometimes, i just want to put my headphones on, crank the volume up to an earsplitting level, and not worry about things.
But it’s not that easy.

At the risk of being the predictable bore I undoubtedly am, I’ve found getting on my bike and even going for the briefest of rides gives me a chance to get my head in order, burn off some narkedness, that kind of thing.
You bore !
I do appreciate the thought though. I’m not saying that I want to be back in a place with no responsibility, just that it would be a lot easier to say ‘stuff it’ at work when I need to.
You can put your headphones on when you get home. In the shed.
